Kind of incredulous as I write this because this season has been full of so many pinch-me moments. From accepting a behavioral therapist position my freshman year to discovering my love for blogging as a senior- I have been so blessed by the most amazing opportunities. During this time in undergrad, I have learned to laugh at myself and trust God’s perfect timing over my own. Class of 2019 by the skin on my teeth as I have joked about with all of my friends, but really I couldn’t be more grateful.
I have also poked a lot of fun at this whole ideal work experience situation. But all jokes aside nothing has motivated me more than being able to implement all of the behavioral analytic strategies I learned in the classroom with my clients at work.
Getting my degree has always been such a balancing act, but I feel so accomplished that I was able to pull it off (and in style, I might add lol.) Working in a field that I am passionate about really changed the game for me, and I feel so secure in my choice of career. With this being said, the best advice I could give to anyone starting college for the first time or considering going back to school is to be all in. If you are going to sacrifice so much of your time and energy do yourself the favor and make sure that you are studying is something you LOVE. Read more about my take on this here.
My next stop is grad school which I am so excited about. Having an entirely new scholarly experience has my inner nerd doing cartwheels.
I’m honestly so happy that I can share this accomplishment with the little online community I have cultivated. My heart is overflowing with gratitude to all of the amazing, influential people I have met through school and work that have supported and mentored me during this beautiful journey.
